On August 7, 2025, in the city of Suhl, Germany, Hanoi IEC and the GCA German Language Center took part in the “Vietnam Day in Germany 2025” program together with LEG Thüringen, IHK Südthüringen and Vietnamese–German partners. The event was part of a series of activities marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, and welcomed 60 Vietnamese students beginning vocational training in the state of Thüringen.

Meeting Vietnam–Thüringen Partners in Suhl
The program was attended by Ms. Colette Boos-John, Minister for Economy, Agriculture and Rural Development of the state of Thüringen; Mr. Marcus Malsch, State Secretary of the Ministry; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Counselor and Head of the Investment Section at the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany; and representatives of organizations and businesses from both countries.

On behalf of Hanoi IEC and GCA, the program was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, representative of the Thüringen Economic Development Agency (LEG Thüringen) in Vietnam, and Ms. Vu Thuy Phuong, Director of the GCA German Language Center.

The event gave the parties an opportunity to meet, maintain connections and discuss cooperation between Vietnam and the state of Thüringen. Vocational training and human resource development are topics closely tied to the cooperation between Hanoi IEC, GCA and German partners.

Welcoming 60 Vietnamese Students to Begin Their Vocational Training Journey
A highlight of Vietnam Day in Germany 2025 was the reception of 60 Vietnamese students from the 9th cohort of the Thüringen Vocational Project. The students are entering a three-year vocational training program at companies and training institutions in the state.

For the students, this is a transition from the preparation stage in Vietnam to vocational study and practice in Germany. Besides acquiring professional knowledge, they will gradually become familiar with the business environment, job requirements and life in the local community.

The reception was also an occasion for students to meet the partner organizations, creating further connections as they begin their journey in Thüringen.
Meeting Students from Previous Cohorts Again in Germany
During the program, representatives of Hanoi IEC and GCA had the chance to meet many students from previous cohorts who are living, studying and working in Germany.

These meetings helped the Hanoi IEC and GCA team catch up on students’ situations and hear real experiences of vocational training and adapting to a new life. Their growth is a joy for the team that has accompanied them since the days of learning German and preparing documents in Vietnam.

Continuing Vietnam–Thüringen Vocational Training Cooperation
By taking part in Vietnam Day in Germany 2025, Hanoi IEC and GCA continue to maintain connections with LEG Thüringen, the South Thüringen Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Südthüringen) and partners in training and human resource development.

Hanoi IEC and GCA sincerely thank the partners who have helped support Vietnamese students during their preparation, study and integration in Germany. Cooperation among the organizations is the foundation for continuing vocational training programs that help learners prepare for business requirements and for living in Thüringen. To learn about vocational training programs in Germany and the German language preparation pathway, students and parents can contact GCA for information and support.
