From November 2–8, 2025, the Economy, Agriculture and Rural Development Delegation of the state of Thüringen, Germany, visited and worked in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. Taking place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, the trip focused on promoting cooperation in economy, trade, agriculture and human resource development. Exchanging Vietnam–Thüringen Economic Cooperation Opportunities
During the working program, the Thüringen delegation met with the German Embassy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) and other agencies, organizations and businesses. The meetings focused on needs, potential and directions for cooperation in trade, agriculture and human resource development. They were an opportunity for the parties to learn about cooperation priorities, establish contact points and discuss content that could be carried forward after the visit.
Business Networking at VIETFOOD & BEVERAGE VIETNAM 2025
One of the highlights of the trip was the delegation’s attendance at VIETFOOD & BEVERAGE VIETNAM 2025, accompanying Thüringen companies as they introduced their products and sought partners in the Vietnamese market. Taking part in the exhibition allowed companies to reach customers, exchange views on market needs and explore product distribution opportunities. At the same time, direct business-to-business (B2B) meetings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City opened further opportunities to discuss sourcing, investment and long-term cooperation.
Promoting Vocational Training Cooperation and Human Resource Development
Alongside trade promotion activities, human resource development was one of the topics on the Thüringen delegation’s working agenda in Vietnam.
The delegation met Vietnamese candidates, introduced vocational training and employment opportunities in Thüringen, and took part in activities marking the 10th anniversary of the project to attract Vietnamese workers to the state’s economy. This milestone was an occasion to look back on the cooperation process and discuss development directions for the next stage.
The Karriere-Tag career fair at Deutsches Haus also allowed young Vietnamese people to access information about vocational training, employment and study in Germany. Through direct exchanges with company representatives, attendees gained a better basis for understanding recruitment requirements and preparing a suitable career path.
Reception Marking 50 Years of Vietnam–Germany Diplomatic Relations
During the visit, a networking reception at the German Ambassador’s residence brought together representatives of the state of Thüringen, the German Embassy and Vietnamese partners. Held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, the event created space for the parties to meet, exchange experience and discuss cooperation initiatives. It helped strengthen relations among partners while opening further connection opportunities in economy and human resource development.
Hanoi IEC’s Connecting Role During the Visit
Accompanying the Thüringen delegation, Hanoi IEC took part in organization, partner connection and support for implementing the program in Vietnam. The activities aimed to facilitate exchanges between the delegation and Vietnamese agencies, organizations and businesses.
