On October 5, 2026, Hanoi IEC – GCA officially opened the VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room in Hanoi, attended by representatives of AWO Thüringen, healthcare facilities and the German Embassy in Vietnam. Built with professional support and equipment from AWO Thüringen, the practice room aims to combine German language training with nursing knowledge and skills from the very beginning of the learning process in Vietnam.
Opening of the VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room During the Visit of the Thüringen State Delegation
During the working visit of the Thüringen State Delegation to Vietnam, Hanoi IEC – GCA held the opening ceremony of the VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room at the GCA German Language Center in Hanoi.
The opening was attended by representatives of AWO Thüringen, healthcare facilities and the German Embassy in Vietnam, marking a practical cooperation activity in training and preparing nursing personnel for the German labor market.
The practice room was built to bring professional situations closer to students, allowing learners to experience a care environment modeled on Germany while studying German in Vietnam.
It is also a step forward in the training direction of Hanoi IEC – GCA: focusing not only on language proficiency but also on preparing professional knowledge and the ability to adapt to an international working environment.
Combining German Language Training with Professional Nursing Practice
One of the key goals of the VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room is to connect learning German with applying the language in patient care situations.
Instead of encountering specialist terminology only through documents, students can become familiar with the space, equipment and care activities simulated after nursing environments in Germany.
Through the learning content, students have the opportunity to:
- Become familiar with nursing equipment: Recognize the names, functions and use of items used in care activities.
- Learn care procedures: Understand the work steps and professional requirements in nursing environments in Germany.
- Study specialist German: Become familiar with nursing terminology, work instructions and expressions used in common care situations.
- Practice professional communication: Practice using German when communicating with patients and colleagues through simulated situations.
Combining language with a professional context helps students better understand how German is used at work, while gradually preparing them for study, qualification recognition and employment in Germany.
AWO Thüringen Supports the Building of the VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room
The VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room was built through cooperation between Hanoi IEC – GCA and AWO Thüringen, a German partner active in care and social services.
During implementation, AWO Thüringen provided professional advice and donated practice supplies, helping create a learning space that simulates the care environment in Germany.
AWO Thüringen’s support gives Hanoi IEC – GCA a stronger basis for building training content tied to the real requirements of the nursing profession, especially in using specialist German and becoming familiar with work situations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, General Director of Hanoi IEC, emphasized:
“GCA’s direction is to provide German language training linked to professional competence and the ability to integrate in Germany. We want our students to be able to use German to work, to be proactive in daily life and to build a long-term career. The VICARE PRO Nursing Practice Room is a concrete step toward realizing that direction.”
A Practice Space for Nursing Students and VICARE PRO Candidates
The practice room will serve candidates participating in the VICARE PRO Nursing Qualification Conversion Scholarship and students enrolled in the nursing program at GCA.
For candidates who have graduated in Nursing in Vietnam and plan to work in Germany, becoming familiar early with professional terminology, the care environment and professional communication situations is an important part of the preparation process.
The practice space gives students more opportunities to connect the knowledge they have been trained in with the requirements of a new working environment, while supporting career-oriented German language learning.
This is a supplementary preparation activity and does not replace requirements for qualification recognition, adaptation training or professional competence assessment under German regulations.
